well, that didn't quite go as planned. our dehydrator (it's an excalibur) doesn't have a built-in timer, so we rely on a timer plug. when really we shouldn't, since it failed to do its job yesterday. when your only purpose on the planet is to do one thing, you really ought to do it properly. but no. i set the timer plug for four hours, but it didn't stop at that, it just kept going. so our pizza bases were somewhat dry :(
i made the tomato sauce based on carol alt's recipe, too, but adapted it to use the olives in the sauce, not make a separate tapenade. and finally, i added our 'feta' as topping.
tuesday night we'll have mashed avocado and basil on top, as well as some of the leftover tomato sauce. i'm really looking forward to that variant.

i figured that we needed something different on day two which is why i bought the mozzarella. i buy a very fresh organic one and despite the whole 'raw vegan' concept, i don't consider myself vegan. i eat honey and cheese from time to time. and it felt a bit naughty eating the pizza tonight, but you know what, it totally made the experience. it was extremely yummy. and i got a bit of B12, so it was definitely a Good Idea.

had a truly awful day at work. i have some deadlines which are slipping. i'm finding it hard to get other people to do what i need them to do and get it right first time. i'm finding i'm having to hand-hold and that's getting on my nerves, slowing things down, making it more expensive and meaning i get behind on my own non-project management tasks. so i'm a bit on edge about that at the moment.
luckily there are good things going on elsewhere, like we're getting some stuff shifted out of alphonso the third (deceased) (that's what booyaa christened the spare room) so i can tidy and clean it ready for my parents' visit. and there's a handyman coming over tomorrow to fix a few bits and pieces, too, so that's cool. this weekend there's a music festival in the neighbourhood, looking forward to hearing some local bands play and mooch round the stalls and wotnot. should be fun. hope it's nice weather.
